2023 WBSA Sponsored Baseball Programs
Welcome to the Wilton Baseball and Softball Association.
The Wilton Baseball and Softball Association (WBSA) is a nonprofit organization formed to establish an active Baseball and Softball organization in the Town of Wilton. Wilton Baseball and Softball Association’s mission is to promote, organize and support athletes in development and preparation of Baseball from the youth level all the way through to the high school level. The WBSA seeks to instill in the athletes of Wilton the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, and teamwork so they will grow to be well rounded, healthy adults.
The WBSA offers a Travel and Tournament Baseball Programs played under the name CT Red Tails for youths starting when they graduate from Little League at 12 years of age up to 19 years of age. We provide opportunities for both league and tournament play as well as a house baseball team. Given an adequate number of skilled players in each age group the competition levels and number of teams are determined upon completion of try-outs and registration. Each year, we host Spring, Summer and Fall baseball teams as well as a Winter Workout Program.
It is the philosophy of the WBSA to provide a program that emphasizes playing in town with friends with a goal towards building a community of players, develops a player’s individual skills as well as the player’s concept of team sports in the context of healthy competition. Winning is secondary to playing the game the right way. At the younger ages, the emphasis will be on development of sound baseball skills, moving toward a more competitive program at the older ages.
Spring Baseball:
Each Spring, the WBSA has league, tournament and house baseball teams for each level of play of registered participants. Registration for the spring teams normally opens in the Fall/Winter of the prior year and will continue through early February. Since our summer baseball teams are set the prior Fall/Winter, we are able to invite the summer baseball teams to start playing together in the spring, creating a smooth transition for the team into the summer baseball program. Click here for a list of the current 2023 Spring Baseball Teams.
Summer Baseball:
Each Summer, the WBSA again has league, tournament and house baseball teams for each level of play of registered participants. Tryouts for the summer league and tournament teams normally occurs in the Fall of the prior year. The Summer teams established in the Fall of the prior year are invited to play together in the spring, creating a smooth transition for the team into the summer baseball program. Click here for a list of the current 2023 Summer Baseball Teams.
Fall Baseball:
Each Fall, the players move up and are considered the age they would be the following Spring. In the Fall, the WBSA has league and house baseball teams for each level of play of registered participants. Evaluations may occur in order to better facilitate the creating of the teams. Click here for a list of the current 2023 Fall Baseball Teams.
Off Season Offerings:
The WBSA offers Pre-Winter Workouts from November thru December concentrating on strength, agility and conditioning with skills practice. The Winter Workout program which runs from January thru March will concentrate more on skills practice but still incorporate strength, agility and conditioning into the mix. These programs are run thru the WBSA for Middle School players and similar programs are run through the Wilton High School Boosters group for the Wilton High School players.

- The team expects to play approximately 15 to 25 league games with more games played during the Summer than in the Fall or the Spring in Greater Hudson Valley Baseball League.
- Two (for Spring and Fall) to three (for Summer) experienced coaches will work with the players on strengthening skills and offensive and defensive strategy.
- Practice will be two (for Spring and Fall) to three (for Summer) times per week in Wilton and will focus on skills development and position-specific work.
- At the end of the season, the team will play in the Greater Hudson Valley Baseball League’s single elimination playoff games which concludes with Championship weekend.
